decoration project

Mateo House - 2023

The master touch.

This project was no walk in the park, and for me, the responsibility was significant. We had to devise a sophisticated and welcoming space for a young couple that they could truly identify with and consider their first home.

We had several inputs before starting: A client accustomed to a more English style, with bold upholstery and wallpaper, asked us to keep the colors relaxed, and that is how the mix began.

Few elements, but well chosen.

The ultra-comfortable custom-designed sofa is the unifying element of the entire space. For pieces designed and manufactured by Terria, such as the dining table, the coffee table, the pedestals, and the light fixtures, we wanted to keep them more discreet in materials and "softer" tones.

Thus, the 1960s sideboard by Graves and Thomas, the Olofane wall sconces, the paintings by Paloma Cabana, and the blown glassware by Gordiola provide the perfect contrast.

We wanted to highlight all the good things they were gifted and added a few pieces to the project that would last them forever.

In the dining room, with a jungle of fabric, we wanted to transport the owners to Vietnam, the place they went for their honeymoon.

We chose the kitchen wallpaper with that same intention.

Surrounding the ceiling of the dwelling, a grayish-green line cohesively ties all the spaces together.

Oak wood, plenty of neutral fabric, and linen wallpaper envelop the primary bedroom. For our Organic collection headboard, we envisioned a surprise effect with the velvet on the border.
