The importance of architecture, light, materials, and colors
We currently spend approximately 90% of our time in indoor spaces. It has been proven that architecture has an impact on our body and brain not only on a physical level but also on an emotional one.
There are studies that say that in a traditional hospital environment, a healthy patient can feel sick and physically and emotionally weak. Cold, white, and impersonal rooms that try to promote a sense of cleanliness and sterility can generate discomfort and anxiety in the patient. Conversely, a space with light and natural materials and an appropriate color palette, can reduce stress levels, promote concentration, improve mood, and accelerate the recovery process.
Mud and microcement
Its intention was to symbolize the more human side of man, the close treatment of the patient, the beauty of the natural, the soul and the body that compose us.
Metal, designer lighting, signage
The more rigid and cold materials allude to the technology that provides us with a more scientific, cutting-edge, and precise approach. It represents the great achievements that man has attained through reason, which will go down in history and endure over time. The power of the human mind to foster progress and innovation for problem-solving.
We have been fortunate enough to design the oneskinmed clinic.
It has been exciting to see the space come to life. The terracotta walls we envisioned to welcome the client. The calm lighting designed to feel "at home" accompanies visitors on their journey through the clinic. The upholstery of the sofas and curtains is enveloping and pleasant. Everything looks good because everything serves its purpose.
Each element was designed to give soul to the space and convey the intention of its creators (Lidia and Victor): dermatology with soul, criteria, and purpose.
And after finishing the project, I can say that they could not have been more right. During the construction process, they trusted our work 100%, always with enthusiasm and a positive approach. They are people with a special sensitivity for doing everything with care, putting themselves in the other person's "skin," and having enormous empathy. We have felt at home from the very beginning.
In short, the best part of this project was meeting people with soul, criteria, and purpose.
